It's Hard To Believe We've Been Serving The Greater Puget Sound For Over 10 Years!

The Cascadian Story
 

Cascadian Building Maintenance was founded in Redmond, Washington, in the Spring of 1994.  The original goal of creating a "PREMIER" janitorial service, with a solid customer service oriented business plan, became a reality with the combined efforts and talents of Steve Normann (Founder/Chairman of the Board) and Tim Reyhons (current Cascadian President).  

Together, at that time, the two "Founding Father's" had over twenty years of janitorial and managerial experience (see their bio's in the "Management Staff" section) encompassing the Northwest area ranging from Vancouver, Canada, down throughout the Puget Sound.  This experience covered all types of commercial accounts ranging from Class "A" High Rise Office Buildings, High-Tech, Medical to Industrial type facilities.

Over the years, with a great quality and customer service track record, Cascadian had an opportunity to expand rapidly.  However, to keep with the original business plan, the urge to expand too rapidly was kept in check and Cascadian continued to slowly expand and hire quality personnel to fill important leadership roles.  

In late 1998, with several customers expanding their operations and more new customers wanting to come on board, Steve and Tim felt it was time to expand the management staff.  Kelly Foster was brought on board as the General Manager.  He had extensive management experience in the janitorial industry (see his bio in the "Management Staff" section) in the Puget Sound area, and he strongly believed in the Cascadian business plan!  With hard work and the dedication of new and seasoned employees, 1999 was off to an incredible start!  As the number of customers continued to grow, another veteran of the business was needed in our night operations staff and Fernando Soberanis was brought on board.  He began as a Supervisor, and has since become our Night Operations Manager.

In early 2000, it became apparent that more customers were again going expand their operations and other potential customers were hearing about the quality of service Cascadian was providing.  Steve, Tim and Kelly decided it was time to expand the management staff again, so Greg Davis was brought on board as the Director of Business Development and Miguel Perdomo was hired as an additional Supervisor.  Again, both had years of management experience in the janitorial industry in the Pacific Northwest region (see their bio's in the "Management Staff" section).

As word of mouth continued to spread about Cascadian, we again decided it was time to expand our management staff prior to adding on substantially more business so that we would be prepared to expand seamlessly for all of our customers, both old and new.  In early 2001, Manuel Penaloza was promoted to the position of Area Supervisor and Amrital Singh was promoted to a position of Area Foreperson (see their bio's in the "Management Staff" section).  In early 2002, Amritpal Singh was promoted again to a position as an Area Supervisor and Ira Thomas Jr., another veteran of the janitorial industry in the Pacific Northwest, was hired as a District Manager (see Ira's bio in the "Management Staff" section).

As our business continued to grow, we needed to expand our office staff, as well as adding someone to our staff that could translate employee documents and safety information when necessary for our growing staff.  In late 2003, Arla Vvanti joined our Office Manager, Annissa Manolovitz, in our front office and has been an incredible help in all office operations (see both of their bio's in the "Management Staff" section)!  We also felt we needed to expand our Human Resource capabilities for our growing staff and in early 2004 we hired Kerrie Yeasting, a Human Resource veteran, to handle and expand this department for us (see her bio in the "Management Staff" section)!  Kerrie has been instrumental in expanding our programs already in place, as well as instituting new programs to benefit our employees!

With these latest hiring's, Cascadian is again positioned to continue its growth without sacrificing customer service in the process.  At some janitorial companies, manager's, account representative's and supervisor's are expected to manage 40, 50 and even up to 80 separate accounts (no wonder some customers hardly ever see a representative of their janitorial company...and some janitor's don't see a supervisor of their employer)!  Each Cascadian manager and supervisor has a very small amount of clients that they work with, allowing manger's to see their customers and supervisor's to see the janitor's on a constant basis.  We bring on management staff prior to expansion so that growth is seamless to our customers, rather than bringing on staff after everyone is swamped and manager's don't have time to proactively monitor the quality of service and supervisor's don't have time to train and check each of the employee's they are responsible for.    

The Cascadian philosophy has always been simple...We are confident in our continued success because we believe in our TEAM!  From our inception, we have always realized that by surrounding oneself with good people, good things will happen, for Cascadian and for our customers!  People can and do MAKE A DIFFERENCE!  

From a few janitors and a couple of accounts, Cascadian Building Maintenance has grown to servicing well over 6 million square feet of customer facilities on a nightly basis with over 185 employees!  We will continue to grow by doing what we do best...keeping quality and customer service at the forefront for each and every one of our customers, and giving our customers the kind of janitorial service they want, expect and deserve!
